  • Awarded a very prestigious award, the ‘Kapol Asmitaa Award’ by the organizers of KITE (Kapol International Trade Fair) for attaining ‘Excellence in the field of Education’ on 10th November 2008.
  • Awarded the ‘Twameva Vidya’ award as the head of one of the city’s colleges for the committed efforts put in ‘for producing the best talents in various fields’. The award was presented by Yuva and Vighan Sangh on Teachers’ Day.
  • Awarded the ‘Chief Excellence’ award for excellence in education. The award was presented by Technology Management Centre on 16th January 2010.
International Visits
  • Invited as the only Indian delegate to visit Japan by Consulate General of Japan under JENESYS Programme from 2nd December 2008 to 11th December 2008 with nine students.

  • As a Teacher in the Junior Section of the Department of Philosophy of the D.G. Ruparel College from 1974 to 1978.

  1. The N.A.A.C. Steering Committee at D. G. Ruparel College and successfully achieved ‘A’ Grade Accreditation (2002 – 2003).
  2. International Conference on ‘The Importance of Medical History; Transnational and cross cultural perspectives on a Multifaceted Discipline’ was organized in collaboration with the Wellcome Trust, U.K. Twenty Three scholars from U.S.A. & U.K. participated in the conference making it a grand success.
  3. International Conference on South Asia. The subject of the conference was  Territorial Boundaries and Cultural Frontiers Emerging South Asian Consciousness’ in SIES          College of Arts, Science & Commerce herein academician/delegates invited from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nepal & others from other states of India (2005 – 2006).
  4. The UGC sponsored National Conference on Environmental Ethics for  Sustainable Development held at K.J. Somaiya College of Arts & Commerce. Environmentalists like Shri. Sundarlal Bahuguna (Chipko Movement) and Shri. Kishan Mehta were Chief events (2003 – 2004)
  5. National Seminar in ‘Naariwad’ (Status of Woman in Literature). It was a multi-linguistic conference that included discussion & presentation on literary contribution in Gujarati, Marathi, Hindi & English literature in University of Mumbai, Kalina.
  6. The UGC sponsored National workshop on ‘Fungal Bio remediation’ a multidisciplinary programme, jointly organized with mycological society of India. It envolved research scholars from department of Chemistry, Bio-chemistry, Botany, Zoology,  Life Science, Micro-biology &  Biotechnology (2004 – 2005).
  7. UGC sponsored National Seminar in Hindi. Title of the Seminar is “Uttershati Ki Hindi Kahaniyan me Sti, Dalit aur Sampr” (2005 – 2006).
  8. National Seminar on’Hindi media – Its strengths and humiliations’ was organized in collaboration with the Maharashtra Rajya Hindi Sahitya Akademi              (2006 – 2007).
  9. Actively participated in a workshop organized by Prerna and the University of Mumbai to prepare leaders for Intervention and Prevention of Suicide among Students.
  10. Successfully led the Ruparel College Students’ Contingent  at the Mumbai      University youth Festival in which the College won the Championship (1998).
  11. Successfully arranged a Cultural Week- Sharadotsav attended by celebrities from the Medial Literature and Performing Arts (1997).
  12. Professor-in-charge of Gujarati and Philosophy Associations and has organized educational tours and class picnics for T.Y.B.A. students at D.G. Ruparel College (1990 – 2003).
  13. Secretary of the college Staff Academy of D.G.Ruparel College for ten years.
